EP 69 - Solving The World's Problems Through Education

evolvepodcast.substack.com

This interview is part of the series of research interviews on the education crisis and how we can solve it. If you want to hear the other experts, please see our education thesis.

Zoe Weil has spent decades helping to create a peaceful, healthy, and just world for all people, animals, and the environment through humane education. She personally taught thousands of students about the problems we face and the solutions we can create.

The problem was, she was only but one of a few people teaching young people about these issues and she knew in order to solve global, systemic problems, it was going to take a movement at a larger scale.

So she co-founded the Institute for Humane Education (IHE) to train other people to be humane educators and to advance this important work.

Since 1996, the IHE has created a movement that has the potential to solve every problem we face and create a restored, healthy, and humane world for all.

At the core of this movement is help educators to create Solutionaries - someone identifies inhumane, unsustainable, and unjust systems and then develops solutions to transform them so that they are restorative, healthy, and equitable for people, animals, and the environment.

In this episode of the Evolve Podcast, Zoe Weil is going to help us learn about the problems that plague our education system and her solution for creating Solutionaries who apply what they learn in the classroom to solve problems in their community and world.
